Essential Details of the Photo Safari
To whet your appetite for the safari:
We really want you to be inspired to join us on this photo safari. So, in that spirit, here are some suggestions to get you ready. As you watch these videos or view these photos, just imagine yourself standing in the grandeur of the Rockies and capturing images like these!
- YouTube: How to Take a Better Mountain Photograph -- this video gives great info about composition, getting to the site very early, and a couple of filters (polarizing & graduated (we recommend a neutral density graduated) for your camera), and, of course, the rule of thirds
- YouTube: Images of RMNP -- a great slideshow that should give you immense inspiration
- YouTube: Rocky Mountain Montage -- a video of great photos, with John Denver's "Rocky Mountain High" as the music bed. (Makes me think that we should be sure to have John Woody along to capture our experience on video!)
- YouTube: Rocky Mountain National Park--A Visual Documentary (2005) (8 mins.)
- Imagine Imagery -- professional photography. Click on "Index" at bottom left, then choose "landscape photography." Scroll through the amazing photographs and imagine what kinds of images you will be able to capture, particularly during the "Golden Light" hours of early morning in the Rockies.
